Manchester United loose to AC Milan

A performance... rather lack of it, I would easily like to forget... but it was not the defeat but the sheer inability to do anything about it is what hurts the most.

Most of the time when United play their matches, I always have a gut feeling of how we are going to play... if i feel nervous that day, the team plays nervously, at the same time when I feel confident about the team, they show their class. Yesterday night was something I had never experienced before... no tension, no nervousness, no excitement nor confidence before the game.
And the players on the field I guess were feeling the same... no excitement or intent whatsoever.

If United beating Roma was the best United performance... yesterdays match was the worst I can recollect for a very very long time. The defence had to be weak no doubts... with all the injuries we are carrying. But do I have any justification for United's attack who could not string a few passes together except on one or two occasions? the answer a NO!

I know its sheer disappointment that's driving me to write this but, staying up late week after week during the exams and hearing all the crap and scoldings from my parents about watching these matches late at night... the way the players played was heart breaking.

It was as if the players were waiting to give an inch perfect pass to the Milan attackers every time they could get the ball. Could not hold on to the ball for more than a few seconds... but surprisingly the possession statistic says a completely different story.

Hats off to Gattuso... never has any player managed to irritate, frustrate or bug me to such an extent that I wanted to kill him with my bare hands. That ______ (fill in with all the swear words u can think off) got away with all the challenges he made. Could have easily been booked... but then the Ref...

I would want a probe on this ref... knowing that Milan have been found guilty of match fixing before (don't hate me for saying this... but off late I have been watching a lot of Jose Mourinho ;), effects are bound to be seen now). But the less I say about the ref the better. Gattuso could have gotten away even if he would have killed a United player as the ref freaking didn't want to give a foul against him.
United wanted one moment to lift themselves up... which could have maybe given them some confidence and I feel it happened when Rooney was tackled by Oddo in the box. An obvious penalty as Oddo showed no intent to get the ball... but the idiotic referee didn't consider it. Had that penalty been given the match could have turned out different...

Enough of if,buts and maybes... Champions League for this season is done... a double still in sight... hopefully we have used up all of our bad luck yesterday night... its time we show that we are the best in the EPL... the Premiership is ours and Chelsea... an open challenge... WE ARE GOING TO KICK UR BUTTS Goodbye!
